A Partnership for National Unity (A.P.N.U) has communicated to the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Dr. Steve Surujbally, its concern that the PPP/C and its Presidential Candidate are proclaiming on Mr. Donald Ramotar’s Facebook Page that the PPP/C has won the elections.
A.P.N.U expects the Guyana Elections Commission to address this violation of their expressed wish that no party or organization announce election results before the Commission makes public the official count.
A.P.N.U views the proclamation of victory by the PPP/C as reckless and an incitement to public disorder.
RESPONSE BY GECOM CHAIRMAN ON PPP’S FACEBOOK PAGE ELECTION RESULTS
A Partnership for National Unity (A.P.N.U) has just been told by the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Dr. Steve Surujbally, that he had been informed by the PPP/C that the proclamation of victory on Mr. Ramotar’s Facebook Page was the work of “over enthusiastic party supporters” and disassociated themselves from its content.
A.P.N.U is calling on the PPP/C to exercise caution and recognize their responsibility to the nation’s well being.
