Brigadier Granger made the statement at an APNU+AFC Coalition public meeting held at the Ituni Community Centre Ground on Thursday 26 March 2015. He added that the PPP was deceptive, giving the false impression that it was serious about providing employment for youths and fixing essential infrastructure such as the atrocious Kwakwani-Ituni and Ituni-Linden roadways. He also reminded residents that the Region – comparable in size to Kuwait – possessed abundant mining, farming, logging and tourism potential which are being exploited by foreign companies.
Brigadier Granger iterated his support for foreign direct investment but insisted that there must be a ‘level playing field’ for Guyanese citizens and communities who must be given the opportunity to share in the bounty of their homeland. The Presidential Candidate emphasized that, with visionary leadership and good governance, the Region, which has borders with seven other regions and the gateway to Region No. 9, could be transformed into an important development hub.
Brigadier Granger shared the platform with the Vice Chairman of the PNCR, Dr. George Norton; Regional Chairman of Region No. 10, Mr. Sharma Solomon; and Vice Chairman of Region No. 10, Mr. Byron Lewis; Alliance for Change (AFC) RDC Councillor Rutherford.
